Hi, I’m Cora Inkster
I’m a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists (more about NIMH here)
I’ve have taken patients since quali 2023, and I’m fully insured as a complimentary healthcare provider.
My Approach
What To Expect
My approach integrates traditional herbal knowledge with modern clinical assessment. I’m trained to work alongside other modalities and I aim to help you build a network of care.
I take a very collaborative approach because (although I know herbs, pathophysiology, prescribing, etc) people are the experts on themselves.
First Consultation:
When you first register there’s a short form to fill out. This helps me prepare beforehand so we can make the most of the consultation.
An initial consultation lasts an hour and covers:
your medical history,
a full review of your current health,
what your main priorities and goals are for your health,
food and lifeway information (as much as you wish to discuss),
any medications you’re currently taking so I can ensure no contraindications between treatments (herbs can in fact support other treatments),
any other treatments or modalities you have questions about.
I try to be as thorough as possible, because, to paraphrase Hippocrates,
It’s more important to know what person a disease has than the other way around.
This is especially true within herbalism, where we aim to treat the whole person rather than just symptoms, individual organs, or abstract disease categories.
After The First Consultation
I’ll do any background work necessary and by the next Monday I’ll send:
an email recap of everything we discussed,
my suggestion for a strategy to take,
A herbal prescription in full detail so you can purchase it here or source it yourself if you wish.
I might suggest teas, creams, bathing herbs, vinegars, or a variety of other things but we’ll discuss these to make sure they’re suitable for you.
If you’d rather a different formulation then please do ask. Some people like to grow or forage their own medicine, which I can also give guidance on.
Follow ups:
Most people require shorter bi-weekly follow up consultations so that:
I can ensure any unpleasant or harmful symptoms are dealt with promptly.
the prescription can be honed to fit you perfectly.
we can settle on a long-term prescription to tackle the root cause once the superficial symptom issues have subsided.
Time estimates vary depending on how you respond, how complex the case is, and which herbs we decide to include. I can give you a better estimate of what to expect after your first consultation.
Once you’ve had regular bi-weekly consultations and your condition has settled, you’ll likely want to:
continue with a repeat prescription and only book consultations as needed,
or take a low dose maintenance tincture until you’re really robust and well.
Additional Support
Additional background reading is provided for those who like to understand their condition and develop their self-care knowledge.
I also recognise that lots of information and decisions can be overwhelming. My first goal with anyone unwell is to take pressure off. I’m happy to provide simple support if that’s what you need.
